Buying safely in Pakistan
A short checklist that prevents almost every bad deal.
Before you pay anything
- Visit at trading hours. Sit for two or three hours and count real customers — not the ones the seller describes.
- Check the lease. Ask for the agreement, the last three rent receipts, and the landlord's CNIC. Then speak to the landlord directly.
- Match names. The person selling must match the name on the lease or ownership documents. If a relative is selling on someone's behalf, get written authority.
- Check the bills. Electricity and gas arrears transfer with the premises more often than buyers expect.
- Count the stock. If stock is included, value it separately and list it in the agreement.
Red flags
- Pressure to pay a token amount “to hold” the business before you have seen the papers.
- Refusal to let you speak to the landlord, staff or a neighbouring shop.
- Sales figures that only exist in a notebook the seller keeps.
- Requests to move the conversation off-record immediately.
- Any request for card details, OTPs or online banking credentials.
How to report a listing
Use the contact page with the listing link. We remove listings that misrepresent a business, and we keep a record of every moderation decision.
Remember: Biz Apna does not hold money and does not guarantee any listing. Every figure on a listing is supplied by the seller.
